UniPIN

Retail stores are able to provide UniPIN vouchers to purchase Prepaid tokens. UniPIN vouchers require that you sms your meter & voucher number to the telephone number provided as per the instructions on the UniPIN voucher. Please take care in doing this, since sms’ing the wrong meter number cannot be reversed.

Your online or mobile banking app

Retail stores are able to provide UniPIN vouchers to purchase Prepaid tokens. USSD for Cellphone Banking

Ensure you are registered for your bank’s cellphone banking service.
Use the following USSD codes to initiate the purchase and the follow the prompts

Once the transaction is complete you will receive an SMS with your token number

ATMs

If you bank with Nedbank, you can purchase your token directly from a Nedbank ATM. Simply follow the instructions on the ATM for making prepaid electricity purchases.

How it Works

  • Sub Meters are registered with Easypay and Unipin to vend through third parties
  • Tenants purchase electricity vouchers from various outlets including online banking.
  • These vouchers are keyed into the meter keypad and allow electricity to be drawn from the council meter to their sub meter. 
  • All the payments received from these voucher purschases are paid over to your nominated account between the 1st and the 7th of the month for the previous month, less the vending fee, of (13% (9% to the vendors listed above & 4% to SOS for administration)
  • An emailed sales summary reflecting meter purchases will be emailed to you as well as the proof of payment made

How do I Enter a Credit Token into my meter?

Entering a Credit Token into your meter:

  1. Key the 20-Digit token into the Meter Keypad.
  2. Verify the number on the display.
  3. Use the back space key if you entered the token incorrectly
  4. It the token was entered correctly the display will indicate a “Smiley Face” and update the units purchased.
  5. If the token was entered incorrectly the display will indicate an “Unhappy Face” and NOT update the units.
